The last paragraph gives us a clue, maybe through the whole portal travel, the Lich is leading Finn and Jake to his domain to free him from his chains? Finn is certainly curious enough.
Got to wake up late, suns up and shining, got my window cracked open to hear the outdoors. Made some pancake french toast, orange juice, and put on my Adventure Time DVD!! Settle on the couch bundled up in a blanket with my AT plushes.
